The most anticipated first person shooters in 2021

During the pandemic, we were forced to sit at home for a long time. Fortunately, the developers have helped many gamers to brighten up this annoying situation – we saw a lot of top-notch shooters, in particular, DOOM Eternal, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, BPM: Bullets per Minute and several others. And in 2021 we will have even more noteworthy releases. Get ready to arm yourself with all kinds of weapons and wreak destruction in a first-person perspective.

  • Developer: Arkane Studios
  • Publisher: Bethesda Softworks
  • Platforms: PS5, PC
  • Release date: May 21, 2021

The talented studio known for its hit series Dishonored about a steampunk assassin decided to try something new in its next project. The concept of Deathloop is intriguing – you play as an assassin named Colt, trapped on an island with the task of eliminating eight targets. His mission is complicated by the presence of a time loop that resets all of his achievements if he is killed.

In intense boss battles, you have to carefully calibrate every shot and every move, not to mention the need to deal with a variety of enemies and the presence of a competing killer who is trying to eliminate you already. All in all, Deathloop clearly promises to be a worthwhile shooter.

Or, as a fighter of the army of parasites, you can deal with these survivors in PvP mode. Back 4 Blood should quench the bloodlust of Left 4 Dead fans this summer.

Ghostwire: Tokyo

Developer: Tango Gameworks
Publisher: Bethesda Softworks
Platform: PS5, PC

Tango Gameworks is leaving its survival-horror series The Evil Within and introducing an all-new supernatural first-person adventure. Ghostwire: Tokyo takes place (you won’t believe it!) In Tokyo, where all people disappeared, giving way to dangerous spirits.

You are trying to figure out what caused this disaster, relying on melee techniques and mental abilities. To cast a huge number of spells in the game, you have to use hand gestures – a rather unusual way of reflecting Japanese culture in this new setting.

Platform: PC

Some are ready for anything for love, right? In 3796, a mercenary named Caroline wants to buy her boyfriend a very expensive ring. There is not enough money, so she decides to take an excellent chance to earn extra money and goes on the hunt for a sorcerer named Kromun.

Of course, in order to get close to him, she will need to break through an entire army of alien creatures. This adventure awaits in Viscerafest, a first-person shooter that seems like a long-lost relic from the 1990s. It’s time to arrange a real massacre for the aliens!

Postal: Brain Damaged

Developers: Hyperstrange, CreativeForge Games
Publishers: Running With Scissors, Hyperstrange
Platform: PC
Release date: Not announced
The Postal series has always been famous for its incredible amount of blood, violence and bawdy humor. But in terms of gameplay in Postal: Brain Damaged, this time they decided to change their approach. Instead of traveling through an open world, this crazy shooter takes you to a set of separate levels, built on the principles of retro shooters. Ultraviolence, to the delight of longtime fans, isn’t going anywhere. And when combined with a return to basics in the form of dynamic and demanding gunfights, it will certainly bring a whole lot of fun.

Shadow warrior 3

The first two parts of Shadow Warrior were received with real enthusiasm thanks to the proprietarywith humor, an excellent combination of hand-to-hand and ranged combat, and unique movement mechanics. Shadow Warrior 3 intends to continue developing the ideas of its predecessors in an even more graphic form.

This eagerly awaited shooter lets you slash, slash, and shoot whatever comes your way in a whole new take on neo-feudal Japan. With a whole host of new weapons and finishing moves, you have literally everything you need to dominate any enemy you can face in Shadow Warrior 3’s intense battles.

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide

Developer: Fatshark
Publisher: Fatshark
Platforms: Xbox Series X / S, PC
Release date: Not announced
If you’ve already played the Warhammer: Vermintide franchise before the holes, then you are surely waiting for this upcoming co-op shooter for four players. In Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, you and three friends will travel to the gloomy hive city of Tertium. In order not to allow it to fall under the pressure of chaos, you, together with your allies, have to destroy its inhabitants, because of which this negative influence arose.

An impressive arsenal will help to deal with the presence of evil, which includes a chainsword, a lasgun, a shotgun, and many other means of immense destruction, significant for the “forty-thousandth”. Perhaps Warhammer 40,000: Darktide will be the next co-op hit.

One of the remasters that came out of nowhere. We didn’t even know how much we needed it, but now a lot of FPS fans are ready to give it a shot. SiN: Reloaded updates the fa├žade of the 1998 shooter and boasts an impressive amount of content. The set will include an original single player campaign, an expansion and two multiplayer modes. If anyone does not know, in SiN: Reloaded, as Colonel John R. Blade, we have to fight an evil biochemist. It’s time to shoot a couple of mutants. And do it beautifully.

  • Developers: Smilegate, Remedy Entertainment
  • Publisher: Xbox Game Studios
  • Platforms: Xbox Series X / S, Xbox One
  • Release date: Not announced
  • Smilegate is starting to play big, aim

ing to lead its hit shooter in Korea to success in the rest of the world. To achieve this great goal, they are going to do two things – update the game’s graphics with the Unreal Engine 4 and in collaboration with Remedy Entertainment (Control, Quantum Break, Alan Wake) create a decent single player campaign.

At its core, CrossfireX is a team-based multiplayer first-person shooter, similar in gameplay and theme to Counter-Strike. The updated edition of the shooter is much more than just a remaster. In addition to new versions of fan-favorite maps, CrossfireX will have fresh content that will hopefully turn the series into a global phenomenon.
